A graduate of state universities and the mother of sons attending the Boise public schools, Senator Kelly recognizes the importance Idaho 's public education system. She believes that an investment in Idaho 's students is an investment in Idaho's future.

Senator Kelly has been endorsed by the Idaho Education Association in all three of her legislative campaigns.

During her first two terms in office, Senator Kelly

   
  • Co-sponsored a bill creating a three-year pilot project to provide Idaho school districts with clinically trained substance abuse and mental health specialist counselors and specialist social workers.
  • Co-sponsored a bill giving permission to school districts to give instruction to pre-kindergarten children.
  • Consistently supported bills putting more resources in the classroom and giving more flexability to our teachers.
